Anne Sarachan (b. 1990, Philadelphia) is a multidisciplinary artist informed by her background in music, dance, and social organizing. Rooted in collage, her work takes form as installation, drawing, public intervention, and video. Sarachan’s practice is an inquiry into the construction of knowledges, tending toward the alogical and the intimate. In her found image/object sculpture, poetic re-imaginings are inspired by the right-to-repair movement, the unfinished project of dada, and the lineage of artists pursuing new (or ancient) language. She holds a BFA in Painting from Washington University in St. Louis, with a minor in History, and is currently pursuing an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Sculpture and Extended Media.
